Description

Nach Swarzenski [1920], S. 41:
Venus nach dem Bade, Statuette.
Stehend, mit hoch aufgestütztem linken Fuß; der geneigte Kopf und die ausgebogene Hüfte nach links; der rechte Arm greift nach rechts über den Schenkel und fasst ein Tuch, welches die zur Brusthöhe gehobene Linie hält und über den Schoß, zwischen den Beinen, herabfällt; hochgestecktes Haar mit Diadem.
Rötliche Patina.

Variante des vielfach abgewandelten Motives der Statuette im Wiener Hofmuseum; die Haltung des Arme entspricht mehr der Brunnenfigur in der Petraia (Anm.: Villa La Petraia, Florenz).

Auf dem Sockel eine Bronzeplakette mit mythologischem Relief: auf der Frontseite des Bronzesockels eingelassen die Plakette "Victoria bekrönt einen Krieger" (siehe Inv.-Nr. Kb 04).
Giovanni da Bologna (1529-1608).

Bronze, rötliche Vergoldung; Sockel: Bronze, hohl, vorspringende Profile, verkröpft, Rest von Vergoldung an den Plattenschmalseiten;

Measurements

Statuette: H = 141 mm, Plinthe: Durchmesser = 50 mm; Sockel: B x L x H = 89 x 108 x 91 mm;
