Das Präparat zeigt eine weibliche Türkentaube. Die Art ist ein typischer Kulturfolger und besiedelt unsere Dörfer und Städte. Von den Regenrinnen der Häuser hinab hört man ihr dreisilbiges Gurren. Fliegt sie durch unsere Straßen hört man oft ihr "heißeres Lachen". In den 1930er Jahren begann die rapide Ausbreitung von Südosteuropa nach Mitteleuropa.
