Schädel

Pferde gehören zur Ordnung der Unpaarhufer. Charakteristisch sind ihr langer Schädel und lange, schlanke Beine.
Vorkommen: Mittelpleistozän-rezent

Im Laufe der Evolution entwickelte sich die Mittelzehe zum Huf und führte zu einer Reduktion der Zehenanzahl. Dies ermöglichte eine rasche Fortbewegung in weiten Steppen.
