In der Basis rechteckiger, an beiden Enden spitz zulaufender (spindelförmig) Eisenbarren. Wurde in dieser Form in Schiffen transportiert. Beim Stapeln verschränken sich diese Barren gegenseitig und sind so gut gegen das verrutschen bei Seegang gesichert. Barren dieser Art waren als Handelsgut weit verbreitet und Ausgangsmaterial für viele Gegenstände.
