Description

Mit einem solchen Abdeckbrett wurden Sauerkrauttöpfe abgedeckt, damit das Kraut in Ruhe gären kann. Das geschnittene und gestampfte Kraut wurde in zuerst Holz-, dann Steinguttöpfen gesammelt, mit Salzlake bedeckt und dann zum Gären bedeckt. Das Brett hilft dabei, dass das Kraut mit Lake bedeckt bleibt und nicht schimmelt.
