Die Fotosammlung war die Arbeitsgrundlage für das Buch "Bilddokumente über Alt-Dürkheim", siehe weiter unten unter "Literatur".

Abbildung:
Bild der Hardenburg um 1692 von Gernsheimer; erste Burganlage um 1206. Der Bauherr war Graf Friedrich II von Saarbrücken, der sich später "von Leiningen" nannte. Erste urkundliche Nennung 1214. Von den älteren Bauteilen sind keine Reste mehr erhalten. Das heutige Bild der Ruine ist ein Resultat aus Umbauten im 16. Jht. - Die Burg war immer Residenz der Grafen von Leiningen bis zur Zerstörung durch die Franzosen 1794.
