Die Christuskirche in Lahr ist das größte private Grabmal weit und breit.
Ihre Entstehungsgeschichte nimmt ihren Anfang im Testament des Lahrer Kaufmanns Christian Wilhelm Jamm, das dieser 1874, ein Jahr vor seinem Tod, schrieb. Darin vermacht er fast seinen ganzen Besitz der Stadt Lahr. Er gibt jedoch präzise Anweisungen über die Verwendung der Barmittel.
