As of 1 January 2020[update], the municipality had a population of 87,632 inhabitants. The total area is 6.34 km2 (2.45 sq mi), which gives a population density of 13,679/km2 (35,430/sq mi). In common with all of Brussels´ municipalities, it is legally bilingual (French–Dutch).
